True Whispers: The Story of the Navajo Code Talkers - Full Program

Series: The World at War

More than 400 Navajo men served as Code Talkers during World War II. Despite historical mistreatment by the U.S. government and traditional beliefs against killing, they enlisted in the Marines and developed a complex code using their own language. The code was never broken, yet the heroic efforts of the Navajo Code Talkers were not recognized until decades later.
