Of Oozies and Elephants - Full Program

In Myanmar, Asian elephants work alongside their handlers in the logging industry to harvest timber sustainably. The elephant-handler relationship is close and may be life long. Captive elephants don't breed well, so wild elephants are often captured to maintain the working population. Scientists travel to Myanmar to investigate the situation and to set up elephant health and research facilities. They find that stress, disease, captivity, and malnutrition all play a part in breeding failure.
