The Bundy family's long-standing legal dispute with the United States Bureau of Land Management sparked a movement that challenged the federal government. The dispute reached its apex in January 2016, when armed militants led by Ammon Bundy occupied the headquarters of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Harney County, Oregon.
